6 injured in New York truck accident

It is not uncommon to witness or be involved in a motor vehicle accident in or around the New York City area. With so many vehicles sharing the road, along with a large number of pedestrians, the potential for being involved in an accident is very real.

Six people were injured in a Queens auto accident when a box truck crashed into a bagel shop. The accident occurred at Queens Boulevard and 76th Road at approximately 10 a.m. in the morning.

Immediately following the accident, all six people, including one child, were treated for injuries. According to news reports, one woman broke her arm in the accident. Fortunately, none of the injuries are considered to be life-threatening at this point.

A witness said, “The truck sideswiped a car that was parked in front of Forest Park Chapel, put the car right on the sidewalk, and then he continued another half a block straight into the front of the bagel store. That was it. No brakes. There was no other traffic there, so I don’t know what happened.”

In addition to the people who were injured, there was damage to the shop, including structural damage and to the items inside.

This type of motor vehicle accident may not be as common as others, but it does show that anything can happen at any time.

If a person is injured in such an accident, either as a driver, passenger or pedestrian, they may wish to learn more about their legal rights by speaking with a local attorney who specializes in this area of the law.
