Sometimes, a car accident does not involve two vehicles but still results in multiple injuries and death. This was the case this past Sunday, August 11, when an accident claimed the life of a nine-year-old boy. While waiting on a pier to take a vacation to Maine, an out of control vehicle crashed into the area resulting in the death of the boy as well as multiple injuries to others.
At this point, there is no more information on the cause of the accident. What is known is that the driver of the vehicle is 61 years old and a resident of New York.
A witness at the scene said “this was total mayhem and the car came and spun another car around.” In addition to the child who was killed, his younger brother and mother were taken to a local area hospital for treatment. The younger brother, six years of age, is in stable condition and is expected to recover from his injuries. The mother has undergone surgery for her injuries which include broken bones in her pelvis region.
While the investigation continues, the Cohasset community is mourning the tragic accident as they attempt to make sense of what happened. Police have not yet released additional information, and it is unknown at this time if the driver will face any charges as a result of the accident.
