New York State Police in Auburn are currently investigating an accident in which nine people were injured in a car accident in Central New York on a rural road.
At this time, it has been confirmed by News Channel 9 that nine people were taken to the hospital following the crash to be treated for minor injuries. Nobody involved in the accident is thought to have sustained serious or life threatening injuries.
The accident took place in the Town of Sterling around 4:30 p.m. on July 9. Although police have yet to confirm the cause of the accident, it has been noted that there were two vehicles involved: a Buick Century and a Volkswagen Jetta.
After the collision on Route 3, emergency crews were dispatched to the scene where all nine people were treated for injuries before being taken to local area hospitals.
The police heading up the investigation have yet to comment on whether any tickets have been issued to the drivers of the two vehicles. Additionally, there is no word as to which party was at fault. At this time, the investigation will continue until police are able to determine the cause of the accident.
